Really pleased passed first time with 76% which was a big surprise I thought I would of got around the 50 mark!
July 15, 2019 at 7:03 am #523401I failed with 47%. Never failed any of my exams before. I guess self study just isn’t for me 🙁
July 15, 2019 at 7:06 am #523404Yes, trying to not let it set me back.
July 15, 2019 at 7:46 am #523424Passed first time with 80%. I have to say I didn’t study for the exam half as much as my other ones. A lot of it comes down to common sense and general business acumen, which was obvious in the June exam as hardly any technical knowledge came up!
I didn’t spend a lot of time going over material after doing the course and revision with BPP. Instead I focused solely on practice questions, learning how they want you to respond to the questions as well as the structure they’re expecting.
July 15, 2019 at 9:10 am #523475Passed with 57% and now I’m an affiliate! Thank you so much opentuition and BPP.
Don’t be disheartened with failure, keep going! You will get there.
July 15, 2019 at 9:20 am #523485Passed the exam
1st attempt: 34%
2nd attempt 63%really thought i didn’t get it as i left out Q5 completely- 16 marks
tips to pass
1. not to focus on the models and theories but for the requirements use the actual wording throughout your answers and break down into sections for your answers to show you are answering the questions and leave spaces between every point to maximise marks
eg one question I could have used SAF, but instead i answered based on the financial and non financial factors as required
2. plan answers if possible as with bullet points so when i ran out of time i was probably awarded some marks
July 15, 2019 at 9:39 am #523498Second time taking and failed with a 47%. (First time got a 43%). I hate SBL!
How much is the syllabus changing for September 2019? Can I use the June 2019 BPP books for September?
July 15, 2019 at 9:42 am #5235061st attempt. 57%.
Only studied properly for less than two months (with a full time job and two kids). I did all questions in the BPP practice kit and a couple of mock exams.
Thank you OT.
July 15, 2019 at 9:45 am #523510This is my second attempt and I made it this time. There was really no technical knowledge to apply. Business acumen is the only key to succeed. Just make sure to keep going no matter what your result is. Cheers!
July 15, 2019 at 10:07 am #523525Can you share tips for SBL? I will sit in december for SBL?
July 15, 2019 at 10:09 am #523527Which study resources did you use? Book, revision kit, lectures?

July 15, 2019 at 10:31 am #523535PAssed 59% fisrt attempt. HAve finished with all first time passes , self studying. I did in just under 24 months F1 to SBL despite missing one sitting because of exam fees
.
This was my formula throughout
1. Use ACCA materials extensively technical articles and never miss webinars
2. us open tuition notes. (other study packs are unnecessaily long esp the approved ones).
3. start question practise as soon as second week of study. ( you can never understand by simply reading notes
4 . sit mock exams in timed conditions. ( if u dnt have time split into 3 sittings ten mark strictly.July 15, 2019 at 10:45 am #523536AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Failed first attempt. So sad. Please what’s link theory. Can I still attempt in sept. Just wondering how. Low morale.
July 15, 2019 at 10:52 am #523541Pass 77%, first attempt. 1 left to go!
Congrats to all who passed and for those who didn’t, keep going!!!
July 15, 2019 at 11:12 am #523553Passed. 70% first time. I did feel it was a really easy exam but the time pressure was insane.
I did it with Kaplan exam kit and text book and Open Tuition lectures.
In my opinion you need the following;
1) Time to study the syllabus properly. I work, so took 6 months to study rather than the normal 3 I take.
2) QUESTION PRACTICE!! This is so important. Normally I give myself 6 weeks of question practice but for this one I had 3 months. If you do that you get a sense of what the question is asking for and how to relate it to the the case study
3) Watch and re-watch the professional marks videos. These count for 20 marks in the exam and you need to know what you are supposed to be doing when asked to evaluate, analyse, etc.
4) Read the marker’s comments on ACCA. They tell you what they are looking for. These 4 things will get you through this exam 8/10 times. If anyone is thinking about what they should do after this exam. I’ve done APM and it’s very similar in style.

July 15, 2019 at 11:58 am #523572Passed at 1st attempt with 52. Finally it’s over 🙂

Can you share tips for SBL? I will sit in december for SBL?Read carefully through all examiner reports, ACCA website has a lot of useful information on this exam and strategy on how to answer questions. Invest in a book from Kaplan/BPP. And practice. If not sure get a course, but lots of people including, me actually managed to get it right the first time and by themselves.
July 15, 2019 at 12:06 pm #523577Passed 72% and my ACCA journey is now over! Such a relief and a sense of accomplishment 🙂
July 15, 2019 at 12:18 pm #523586I still failed at my 3rd attempt. first got 42%, 2nd got 39% and now i got 41%. Seriously i don’t know what i did wrong.
July 15, 2019 at 12:24 pm #523587I can not even tell you how many times I failed for SBL (previously P1)…… this theory exam killed me and thought of stopping my ACCA journey. Finally I have passed this time with 54. Just feel like to cry over happiness. 2 more to go but I am over the moon now!
Thanks to Opentuition and ACCA webinar to recap the subject and the exam approach! I will make a donation to Opentuition today to show my appreciation and support this free website! Thank you Opentuition!!!!
July 15, 2019 at 12:53 pm #523599Thank you open Tuition 58% at first attempt
July 15, 2019 at 1:40 pm #523619I got 4 marks worse this time, i think it was easier when it was more technical knowledge than just general business sense
July 15, 2019 at 2:34 pm #523637I attempted 68 marks and got 47. Still confident, will make it next time in shaa allah. This exam required good time management.
July 15, 2019 at 4:21 pm #523660I failed second time and both times the same score 43%, very strange and I have no idea how to proceed.
