ACCA Membership Application

Fferoz5y ago
Hi, has anyone previously applied for membership, if so how long did they take to process your application?
PPatryk5y ago#1
I applied on the day of the September results and got an application acceptance email today. From this point, it will take 5 working days to transfer the status from affiliate to member. This is the information I received today: 'Your membership status will be awarded within five working days, subsequent to the next meeting of ACCA's Committee members, with email confirmation dispatched to you shortly thereafter. Your membership certificate will be sealed at the end of the month. Please allow up to twelve weeks from then for delivery of your certificate.' I hope this helps!

I applied for my membership today. Hope to receive acceptance email by Friday. Fingers crossed!

I applied for the membership last 20 Oct and I got the confirmation email today 22Oct.

I applied for membership on 19 Oct, got it on 22 Oct. Don't wait for the email. I haven't received one myself. I found out about my membership status by visiting myACCA, i.e. 1st, my welcome page became different (showing AGM results and voting) and 2nd, when you go to Account > Account details, you'll see the membership date (my one says, "Membership date 22 October 2020").

Hi everyone I wonder if any of you have received the paper Certificate yet? I have membership approved in early September and still haven’t received it yet. I know it could take up to 12 weeks. But I thought I am based in uk should be quicker. cheers Jen

Hi I am applying for membership this week, just waiting on one thing being signed off. How long roughly does it take to be accepted? And do you get a pdf certificate soon after?
RRosica5y ago#9
Has anyone applied for membership recently? I applied on 19th January and still waiting.

See here: https://www.accaglobal.com/us/en/help/transfer.html#When-will-I-receive-confirmation-that-my-membership-application-has-been-successful? "When will I receive confirmation that my membership application has been successful? Successful applications are reported to ACCA's committee members once a fortnight. Following this meeting, you will be sent a series of emails congratulating you on your success and providing you with information on how to make the most of your ACCA membership." So it will only be two weeks on Tuesday and your application might have just missed a meeting - so could be a little longer. I suggest if you haven't heard anything by the end of the week to contact ACCA directly https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us

Thank you @KimSmith and @Ossyref. They did request further information from me a few days after the application, which I provided it immediately. I guess that might have slowed down my application a bit. But seeing @Ossyref got the membership on 28th January gives me hope that mine should follow next week some time. I’ll give them a call if I don’t hear from them until Friday. Thanks again.
AAdam5y ago#13
Did you hear back from ACCA this week? I applied on 22nd January but haven’t heard back still. I contacted them and they said the members support team are taking longer than usual to process.
RRosica5y ago#14
@raheel95 I got my application approved on Friday,5th February and paid my application fee immediately. According to the e-mail I received, my membership status will be awarded in 5 working days. I hope I won’t need to call them again. Hopefully your application will be approved this week too.

Hi @kim, i got the same email, you can read it below: Thank you for confirming that you wish to transfer to ACCA membership. Your application for membership has been selected for review. This review may take up to 10 working days to complete subject to confirmation from your employer/supervisor. Please note that the employer/supervisor may take longer to respond. Does every membership application get selected for review? Or are these chosen?
HHulk5y ago#18
oh :/ i wanted the membership acceptance for a job offer. Guess i will not be getting the job then if the delay is so long!
KimKimTutor5y ago#19
@hulkhulk - very sorry to not have spotted your posts earlier. ACCA has lots of processes that are subject to review on a test/sample basis - a few years ago I was selected for CPD review and had to provide evidence that I had met the requirements. I was pleased to have used the recording tool because it was very easy to give permission for the reviewer to access - I didn't have to fill out any forms or anything. But the review process still took a three weeks - as I recollect.
NNishreen5y ago#20
I got admitted to membership on January 31, 2021. Do i need to submit my CPD hours by January 1, 2022? or do I start recording after January 1, 2022? In case I start recording in 2022, the CPD i do this year, is it counted?
KimKimTutor5y ago#21
@nishreen - see here https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/member/cpd/your-guide-to-cpd/cpd-what-you-need-to-do.html "You should begin recording your CPD from 1 January AFTER you became a member." I'm not sure if you do CPD in 2021 if it counts in 2022 - you could ask directly https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us In any case I recommend that you start recording using the CPD Evidence Record ("CPD recording tool") in myACCA as soon as that appears to be available to you https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/member/cpd/managing-your-cpd/evidence.html If it is available to you and you can record evidence in 2021 I think those units should carry forward to 2022 - but you would need to ask ACCA to confirm. Going forward it is certainly the case that excess verifiable units can be carried for to the following year.

Hello, has anyone who recently became an ACCA member received their physical certificate? I got my membership in November 2020 and I haven't received mine.
KimKimTutor5y ago#23
@Ore - it indicates here that it can take up to 12 weeks from membership for certificates to be received by local offices https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/member/membership/certificate.html I recommend you contact your local office.

Hi, I applied for membership in April 12 ( yesterday), how long will it take to process? i called ACCA and they are saying it will take up to 10-12 working days :(. Regards to membership meeting, the customer service agent says that is historical information now, as there is no meeting held due to pandemic :(, this amount of time will be taken by administration to process the membership.
TTeresa5y ago#28
Hi, I have applied the membership on 13th April and received the confirmation on 15th April. I have to pay the membership admission fee, do I need to pay the membership annual fee during this year?
KimKimTutor5y ago#29

Ssabrina0065y ago#31
hi, I just received the email says' my application for membership" has been accepted. And that's how my long journey with ACCA has finished I would like to thank Allah the almighty at first and second goes to open tuition team for their generous contribution for the acca student. God Bless you and I will do my small part of contribution for the open tuition for their smooth operation. Thank you open tuition!!!

@sabrina006 - my sincerest CONGRATULATIONS to you! I noted on you "please help" post in July 2018 that you had "decided to give up on it [ACCA] finally" - I am sooooooooo pleased that you did not. There is a "never give up" post on the general forum https://opentuition.com/topic/never-give-up - if you would like to make a post "Why you should not give up" (or similar) on the general forum to share your experience I should be delighted to make it a "sticky post" to give encouragement to the students that are following you. Well done you!
KimKimTutor5y ago#34
@masliav - CONGRATULATIONS! And thank you for sharing information about your timeline!

Hi All, Since I was monitoring this thread for information before applying for membership, thought I would share my latest experience, in case anyone is looking for the latest information. I applied for membership on the day of the December 21 results release. i.e 17th of January 2022 I already had my PER signed off and ethics done. I got an email to say that my membership was approved and would be transferred to membership within 5 working days on the 19th of January. Paid the 270GBP immediately same day. MyACCA was fully updated to the membership profile and I was able to download my membership certificate on the 20th of January and letter of good standing etc.. So from application to downloading the membership certificate took 3 working days in total. Hope this is useful
