I passed with 57%, disappointed a bit with the results, but at least I made it considering that I did not recap during the exam week. I had three papers TX, FR, and FM. First setting and thanks god nailed them all. Now preparing my SBR

TTanka5y ago#11

Hi all, I failed with 49%! I didn’t get NPV or WACC in section C, which I was hoping for. I watched the course lectures and watched the past exam videos as well as printing additional past papers to practice MCQ (Section A&B). This was a 3rd resit (gaps in between due to family situation) for me having used just the BPP study text and revision kit before. I don’t find the MCQs in the revision kit to be similar to the MCQ in the exams! I’d be grateful for any help on this as I’m beginning to think these exams aren’t for me as I can’t keep failing by such a small margin, I’m struggling to stay positive as it keeps happening. When I see people scoring 70-80 marks I’m wondering how and what I’m doing wrong? Thanks.

ctaylor87 wrote:Hi all,
i think the problem is you dont have clear knowledge of the paper and might not understand what the questions ask for.. I advise you to start from the scratch as if you are studying FM for the first time. and most importantly do the past exams on the acca website.( i got a very similar Lease/buy from Past paper of last session).
Cctaylor875y ago#18
Thanks Mahim, I got the past exams that contained the MCQs from the ACCA website. Yes I will start again, but I did have confidence with section C, I was just unlucky with the draw.
GGraham5y ago#19
Don’t give up hope. This was my 2nd attempt at FM and got 43 and 1st attempt was 47! I find the MCQs the hardest. I use BPP revision kit but the MCQs are a lot easier than the exam type ones. I will also need to approach this differently and hopefully passim December
Yyue5y ago#20
I did try both BPP and Kaplan and I found Kaplan was harder than BPP. Maybe try both of them if you have time. Good luck for December exam.
Sshagun5y ago#21
Passed FM with 60 Marks, Thank you Open tuition for all the materials provided on their site.
Aabbas5y ago#22
Passed it with 71 best exam I have ever study
VValery5y ago#23
Hi, I have exactly the same problem! I have failed with 49%! I think it is mainly due to my poor results in Section A & B. I also got confused with the way MCQs were presented and found them different from the practice questions. I studied BPP study text and practiced all past papers and I was satisfied with section C but MCQs were the worst! Any advice on how to understand and prepare for them better?
ZZainab5y ago#24
Passed with 56% thank you Open tuition.
VVarsha5y ago#25
Thanks to John I was able to clear my FM paper in my first attempt. PM is next.
LLouise5y ago#26
Passed, 58%. my exam felt like a disaster and I walked out of there certain I had failed, I had already talked myself down and prepared to hear i failed and was ready to just redo it and work harder. when i saw that i passed i was truly shocked.. what a relief!!
VVeronica5y ago#27
Pass with 61%.Thank you Open Tuition for lectures and tests! Considering all the challenges in this period and my study for FM level, in this exam I was not performing at my best knowledge. Still feeling that all the work for this exam is helping me to be a step forward in my final objective: ACCA qualified!
LLawrence5y ago#28
I did not write in September, I am writing in December and this is my 3th attempt having been failing with 47% and 48%. any tip I no longer have courage to study. Tips will be welcome, I really want to pass this course it feel like a nightmare, any assistance will be welcome. any tips on how to balance working and studying.
JJohn5y ago#29

A pass is a pass. I passed with 55 and to be honest I know my mistakes and I know the material but I blocked on the exam. Its one of those things. The most important is that you passed. And in anyway you'd have to do an advanced paper on the same stuff so sure you will know everything by heart at the end.
