Passed 53%, Congrats to all others that also did. To those that didn't, its not over, there is always next time. It's not an easy course but you will get there, if it was easy everyone would do it. Put the time in, learn what you don't know rather than practice what you do. I thought the exam on the whole was quite odd, worked in my favor but the exam had some odd questions in section A and C coming from directions I was not expecting!

Funny you mention the TERP question, I have been thinking the same thing, even now I can remember the answers. It was a process of elimination rather than using the taught technique, very odd!

First off did u understand ur topics and the questions carefully? like dont just memorize the answers and you're off (speaking from experience) like fully understand them.

Please dont give in, I sat this paper 5 times and passed on my last attempt with 54%.

This happened to me!! I got 38%, 48%, 49% then down to 40% and have just passed on my 5th attempt with 54%. Its so upsetting when you feel like you're putting you're all in to it. Keep at it, you will get there :-)

got 52% only but i am not complaining. passed both the PM and FM exams on my first attempt with barely 3 weeks of study time for both papers. i just relied solely on OT’s notes.

I am still wondering about this TERP question. Absolutely floored me, and like you, I know how to do them. The way this was worded and the fact that I couldn't get ANY of the potential answers just completely threw me off. I still want to know how it was done! Anyway, passed - just - with 50%.

Failed, only 42%, 1st attempt, I think i need practice more with discussion questions, also have difficulties with forwards, TERP. I will prepare for a March exam.

Watch Open tuition videos, and practice all the risk management questions in BPP and Kaplan. You’ll be very good. If you’re writing March exams, start focusing on the ones you don’t know now. Leave the easy ones so you can have ample time to prepare yourself.

I failed too with 48% but was a second attempt. I am sick of these multiple choice questions. Going to sit in March but it is going to be remote. Not sure if it is good idea :(

Thanking firstly the best teacher John Moffat for such a wonderful set of lectures that made me able to pass the exam with 74%. Secondly, appreciation attribution goes to open tuition for providing a platform for free lectures and other facilities and the provision of world class teachers. I passed after failing 3 times, to encourage those who failed please don’t give up. Just work harder. And practice practice practice. In my opinion start with section c, then b and finally a. Make sure you know the topics in section c very well. All the best next time. A big thanks to open tuition

This is my first time using opentuition and I passed with 62%. Thank you Mr John Moffat! It is also my 3rd attempt at the FM paper and I remember giving up a few years back after i failed. My advice to all of you is to keep going and make sure you practice the whole of the exam kit. It helped me a lot.

Hey folks, can anyone tell me if ACCA still has prizewinners? I don't see any information on these anymore. I used to really be inspired by their stories and advice. You guys know of any within recent years? If there were none, I'd be very concerned and so should ACCA. Just saying.

Hello, I am sittingn my exam in March for the 4th time. The first two times my computer crashed and wiped my whole exam and ACCA only gave 20 minutes to do section C and said they will retrieve my Section A and B, the third time I got 48%. I was put off from studying for a year and a half and have finally come back into it. Any advice on how to improve exam technique? I am going through the lectures again, and then will focus solely on study text and past papers. Although, I feel the study text is rubbish as it does not replicate what is in the real exam.

Hi Syednshah Yes, March will also be my 4th attempt with 48% at the December paper. I find that the MCQs is my struggle and the practice questions in the kit do not reflect the difficulty that come up in the paper. ACCA always find a stranger way to ask these questions! I will focus on past exam papers and review hot topics (fx/internet rate risk/WACC/NPV/WC) and fingers crossed will finally pass this time round.

Hi I passed with 83% on my first attempt and I can verify that the study text is not rubbish, in fact I think most Theory Based MCQ's come from a very random part of the study text, and for me a thorough 2 week study of the study text really helped! Hope this helps

@ankithmathew, did you use kaplan or bpp? and how much time did it take you to prepare fully for the exam? watching lectures, practicing exam kit and going through study text all included

It took me a month and a half of prep - used kaplan and practiced their exam kit - honestly I spent 60% of time on problems and try mastering the different kinds of problems, and then I moved on to theory ( as I realised that FM is 50% theory ) which really helps you be sure of the tricky MCQs I think most people fail due to lack of prep for theory
