Did anyone get the following questions?
– Filterer installation question for environmental costing – I put prevention cost, but I wasn’t sure between that and contingent cost…didn’t think it was external failure or the other one?
– ABC question in section A (can’t remember the specifics), but I put $46?
– Sales price variance vs revised budget in section B, I think I got $36,334 or something similar?
– Target cost gap question about how long it would take the company to recoup their losses ($26 costs, competition has $23 costs, target selling price is $30 with 20% markup etc). I put 2 years…
– Throughput question in section B – I took an educated guess at 1.40 (my answer wasn’t there)
– How many units of product X before company used product Y ($0.10 selling price, $0.03 variable cost, $10,000 fixed costs). I put 142,857…
– Relevant cost of labour, I put $110 ($7 per hour, 10 hours, no spare capacity, $40 lost contribution)
– Budget standard graph (difficulty of performance vs actual performance vs budget). I put Q as it maximises performance – R was right on the budget line and I was tempted to go for it, but then I wondered why they would go for something harder which yields less performance-wise?
– the staffing movements question with 3% change in staff count and 9% change in wages, I put true as I divided the wages by number of staff to get the cost per employee
– TPS vs EIS – I put TPS, EIS (summary), EIS (forward looking), TPS
Think I’ll stop there – sorry about the number of questions, I just want to get a rough idea of what people have put! ?

I got thé same expected valueYep I got the same result – there were like 9 different outcomes for Ted’s EV question – unless I got it badly wrong.
Also I got 45% prob that he would lose money by playing there… so conflicts with the EV answer…2nd C question was Transfer pricing – I found it hard cos they said the therapists need to be paid even if no work. So on that basis the minimum transfer price will be very low as better to get something rather than nothing right?
A&B – lots of throughput questions… hardly any variance qs (i didnt mind cos I dont like anyway…!)
Overall I found it hard. I would have preferred to get a Balanced Scorecard q anyday!
June 6, 2018 at 9:30 pm #457294I thought the budgeting stuff was mainly theory based, but the exam seems to have had a lot of numerical work involved with the budgeting and I struggled.
June 6, 2018 at 10:33 pm #457303I though I was the only one. The part A and B were so though that I had no time left for part C which seems to be easer then part A and B. I don’t even hope for the pass even that I was studing so hard and was well prepared….
June 6, 2018 at 10:41 pm #45730645% is correct answer and expected value of profit is $242,400
June 6, 2018 at 10:43 pm #457307Are you working for ACCA? How do you know its correct.
June 6, 2018 at 10:49 pm #457310how to calculate 45% is explained in F9 paper (you may have a look) and regarding expeted value of profit, similar question is given in BPP F5 Study text.

June 6, 2018 at 11:32 pm #457313Hi, i didnt realise that questions are different, my section c question were completely different.

Yes I had the same zero budgeting I also chose Decision Package 3
The other question was transfer price, but I couldn’t finish.. no time… 🙁Hopefully we are both right! We would have secured at least 15 marks at least then?.. really counting on this one.
I couldn’t finish the 2nd Section C question as well. It was about non financial performance measurement.. 0 calculation. I only had 5 minutes to do that one. :/
June 7, 2018 at 1:18 am #457321I thought the exam was ridiculous. I literally studied and practiced BPPs entire revision kit multiple times, exhausted opentuition resources and I still left the exam not confident in how I did. Every part of the syllabus I made sure I understood It with in its entirety. I’m so tired with ACCA. The way the questions came in the exam I was saying wth the whole time in the exam. This is my last paper for this level.
June 7, 2018 at 6:07 am #457347Section C was so hard and very confusing. Qn 31. I feel sad.
June 7, 2018 at 8:14 am #457401I feel like this exam is the most difficult so far for me;
It’s true that i was busing working as well so didn’t have enough time to study but still, i knew almost everything but it was difficult.
I guess i should already pay for resit in september … sad.June 7, 2018 at 9:29 am #457411I think pakage C is the best.

Ran out of time in Section C as was too engrossed in double checking the answers in A/B.ACCA has its ways of making us students pull our hairs out during the exam because some of the questions require you to really understand the theory and apply it to different scenarios.
Overall, good experience. Hope that I’ll be able to pass.
My Section C was zero based budgeting and my answer is Decision Package 3.. anyone?
me too, package 3 is ranked the first place. Hope can pass, it is my second time sit. Finger cross.
June 7, 2018 at 10:09 am #457421I found this exam so hard..
Section was okay- lots of MQC’s , section B was tough- throughput/ sales variances. Section C was AA (balanced scorecard) and zero budgeting. I struggled so much as I was not expecting basically 2 essay questions with little to no calculations…
June 7, 2018 at 11:39 am #457442To be fairly honest, I found some of the MCQs extremely tough in terms of the language of the question and it made it extremely difficult for me to digest the questions and to attend them. Looking at the exam kit and past papers, this exam was pretty hard from what it was anticipated.
Good luck to everyone including me…June 7, 2018 at 1:15 pm #457464Does anyone know when & how we find out our F5 exam results?
June 7, 2018 at 1:28 pm #457468That was my first MCQs exam, before that I had F2 and F3 exams, which were complicated but not as tricky as this exam.
The Section C part with the expected value, I think I have complicated way too much the calculations and resulted in a profit of 4k $ :(, so sad to learn so much and then at exam to see such tricky questions, it seemed to me that it was made for us to fail…

June 7, 2018 at 1:41 pm #457474Sat for f5 paper exam. Questions 1-15 and question 32 were ok. BUT questions 15-30 and 31 confused me.
June 7, 2018 at 1:46 pm #457475Does anyone know when we get the results? Also I thought the F5 exam was the same for everyone but it appears section varied?
