Section A & B had a mixture of a lot of areas. Had Throughput accounting, Sales price variance, a lot of Environmental Accounting questions, was really not expecting that many, life cycle costing, Abc, almost everything to be honest. Section C, a bit og a nightmare, had Ted Ev which I did not have a problem with in revision but pretty sure I did something wrong there, point C of this question really got me thinkinh if I answered a & b right, so left point C unanswered. I the. Got AA hotel balance scorecard which again I aas nit prepared for. Barely wrote anything here. Overall, i thiught the paper was really hard, I feel this paper if becoming harder and harder as not my first atempt. Not feeling confident at al. ?

@reannlim said: Ran out of time in Section C as was too engrossed in double checking the answers in A/B. ACCA has its ways of making us students pull our hairs out during the exam because some of the questions require you to really understand the theory and apply it to different scenarios. Overall, good experience. Hope that I’ll be able to pass. My Section C was zero based budgeting and my answer is Decision Package 3.. anyone?
Yes I had the same zero budgeting I also chose Decision Package 3 The other question was transfer price, but I couldn’t finish.. no time... :(

i got almost the same $240900. what was the answer to calculate the probability that Ted will make less profit? for merchandise, I took 60% margin only as sales. 10*0.6=6 20*0.6=12 30*0.60= 18 all above*probability * by 8700 (using probability to get to 8700) 8700* 45 ticket price 200K hiring castle hill cost $50K + additional $5K for tour costs. (it stated for every 1000 increase tickets +5K tour cost) what was 8 mark question about?
OOpeyemi8y ago#36
This was such a confusing question and didn’t make sense at all. I wasn’t sure if we had to recalculate the formula or if we just had to continue working with this one that was given. My answer was I think 557

There were 9 possible outcomes. For the probability to get less profit i got 45% but not sure if Im correct. The exam was quite tough for me ... except part C Was my first attempt and i hope îll get at least 50%

quantity is mentioned zero over there therefore the answer is 1050-2000=$950

You are supposed to calculate the Q first by working out MR=MC And then you calculate P= a-bQ

Please, the mcq about absorbing cost for small and big Units produced 80k for small and 60k for big Units per batch 1600 for small and 1200 for big Set ups per batch 2 for small and 3 for big.... Please what was the answer to that?

IT WAS WAY TOO HARD, I STUDY THE WHOLE SYLLABUS, I DON'T KNOW WHAT ACCA IS TRYING TO DO.
IIkenna8y ago#47
I'd we are bin honest, the questions weren't exactly difficult, I think it's a matter of understanding the questions. The questions are set to make it difficult for the students to understand what is actually bin asked.

Yep I got the same result - there were like 9 different outcomes for Ted's EV question - unless I got it badly wrong. Also I got 45% prob that he would lose money by playing there... so conflicts with the EV answer... 2nd C question was Transfer pricing - I found it hard cos they said the therapists need to be paid even if no work. So on that basis the minimum transfer price will be very low as better to get something rather than nothing right? A&B - lots of throughput questions... hardly any variance qs (i didnt mind cos I dont like anyway...!) Overall I found it hard. I would have preferred to get a Balanced Scorecard q anyday!

I thought the budgeting stuff was mainly theory based, but the exam seems to have had a lot of numerical work involved with the budgeting and I struggled.
MMarzena8y ago#50
I though I was the only one. The part A and B were so though that I had no time left for part C which seems to be easer then part A and B. I don’t even hope for the pass even that I was studing so hard and was well prepared....
BBekzod8y ago#51
45% is correct answer and expected value of profit is $242,400
CCoco8y ago#52
Are you working for ACCA? How do you know its correct.
BBekzod8y ago#53
how to calculate 45% is explained in F9 paper (you may have a look) and regarding expeted value of profit, similar question is given in BPP F5 Study text.

Hopefully we are both right! We would have secured at least 15 marks at least then?.. really counting on this one. I couldn’t finish the 2nd Section C question as well. It was about non financial performance measurement.. 0 calculation. I only had 5 minutes to do that one. :/

I thought the exam was ridiculous. I literally studied and practiced BPPs entire revision kit multiple times, exhausted opentuition resources and I still left the exam not confident in how I did. Every part of the syllabus I made sure I understood It with in its entirety. I’m so tired with ACCA. The way the questions came in the exam I was saying wth the whole time in the exam. This is my last paper for this level.

Section C was so hard and very confusing. Qn 31. I feel sad.
CCoco8y ago#60
I feel like this exam is the most difficult so far for me; It's true that i was busing working as well so didn't have enough time to study but still, i knew almost everything but it was difficult. I guess i should already pay for resit in september ... sad.
