PM*** ACCA F5 June 2018 Exam was.. Instant Poll and comments ***
I think pakage C is the best.
@reannlim said: Ran out of time in Section C as was too engrossed in double checking the answers in A/B. ACCA has its ways of making us students pull our hairs out during the exam because some of the questions require you to really understand the theory and apply it to different scenarios. Overall, good experience. Hope that I’ll be able to pass. My Section C was zero based budgeting and my answer is Decision Package 3.. anyone?me too, package 3 is ranked the first place. Hope can pass, it is my second time sit. Finger cross.
I found this exam so hard..
Section was okay- lots of MQC's , section B was tough- throughput/ sales variances. Section C was AA (balanced scorecard) and zero budgeting. I struggled so much as I was not expecting basically 2 essay questions with little to no calculations...
To be fairly honest, I found some of the MCQs extremely tough in terms of the language of the question and it made it extremely difficult for me to digest the questions and to attend them. Looking at the exam kit and past papers, this exam was pretty hard from what it was anticipated.
Good luck to everyone including me...
Does anyone know when & how we find out our F5 exam results?

fahada40 what answer did you get in throughput? no matter what i calculated it did not come back to any of the four answers, was the bottleneck time 0.06?
Sat for f5 paper exam. Questions 1-15 and question 32 were ok. BUT questions 15-30 and 31 confused me.
Does anyone know when we get the results? Also I thought the F5 exam was the same for everyone but it appears section varied?
how do they mark the extra 10 marks i mean which questions are they?
Hi,
The questions appears in both Paper-based and CBE are same of different? Because from the above discussion I found some questions which were not the part of my Paper-Based exam like Transfer Pricing and Zero-based budgeting
We already mentioned before that CBE and Paper-based are not the same. They might similar questions but overall it's not the same questions.
i gave cbe exam it was for 110 marks 10 marks wont be counted but which question that we dont know
I got the exact same exam and I agree with you a 100%.
I was shocked with Part A and B. The wording was confusing and much harder than old past papers and the specimen exam made me think it would be.
The Ted singer question was pretty hard.
I had studied performance analysis, ratios, variances, even the demand equation with logs and everything else ...all that hard stuff!! When I saw they were talking about EV and profit it kinda threw me off the track a bit so I will be resitting the exam for sure
Hope you get 50% though :)
I also sat this exam yesterday and got Ted and AA Hotel for Section C.
I believe I also got the EV of $242400 which has been mentioned already, however I only did it across 3 outcomes as I used weighted average on the Merchandise Sales (no idea if this was right or not, I thought 9 outcomes might have been too many for the marks the question was worth). I originally missed the 60% margin comment though as it was on the very last line and off screen and noticed it later as I looked at the Probabilities question and thought all my profits are showing higher than $250K so why is this question here. I then noticed the 60% comment and had to tweak my formula and then redo some of the comments on the previous questions.
I also got the Optimal Sales Price Question also mentioned, I couldn't remember how to do the calculation so just guessed which I presume wrongly based on others answers to that question. I never got chance to master that calculation as didn't have enough prep time. I spent far too long reading the materials and not enough on exam prep.
I left the exam not knowing if I passed or failed and didn't feel weird or worried about it. I decided due to my study screw-up that I would go in and give it a shot and if I fail then so be it and I will resit it in December.
I know for certain I have dropped 8 marks although there is a chance 1 question was part of the 10 marks which do not count. Fairly certain the other 3 count due to content of the question and location in the exam. At least 2 of the marks would have been lost on the Goals question for AA Hotel as I ran out of time needing still to enter 1 more goal and comment on it for Internal.
Anyway war and peace over hopefully everyone gets what they hope for with the results.
now i know why the passing rates for f5 are constantly under 40%
How was it 110 marks ?
We had
Part À 15 MCQ 30
Part B 3 exercices of 5 ququestions each 30
Part C each exercice was 20 which gives 40
Total 100..
My section C questions, one was on transfer pricing + budgeting and the other was on costing & cost centres in a public service decision making scenario which was quite good.
Hey Guys and Girls
I wish everyone good luck for the F5 exam results.
I really struggled in this F5 exam paper.
I found it personally quite a weird paper.
Got a quick question. Can they possibly standardise the marks if quite a lot of students did poorly in the exam?
Thanks.
The results will be available on 16th July 2018 from 5:00 am onwards I believe so.

Hi,
I opted the CBE exam for F 5 this time. Previously got 49 in paper based.
The experience of CBE was not good. The following issues disturbed me a lot. During practice sessions there was not a like these issues.
1. Have to view complete screen rather than it will not go to next question. Even i have scroll up, down and left write, but received the message to view complete screen.
2. The subjective question Expected value have a lot of parts along with a small excel sheet at the last. The excel sheet was showing only 2X6 cells, means only 2 inches were in front of me. When i entered the values in first 2 rows i have to go down for the next values and i can't see the above values. It should be complete excel sheet that i can see what i have calculated above rows.
I have lost my approximately 15 minutes due to the software issue. It creates the pressure and tension in the exam.
ACCA should improve the software functionality. The complete or more area should be provided for excel sheet to see the complete workings in a view.
One question or part then down complete page of excel, then go to next.
For second question word sheet was OK.
the overall exam was very hard but hope I get at least 50%
For Section C, I had Ted EV and the clinics. I also got 242400 for the EV.. For minimum transfer price I put $210 as that was the cost of hiring an external therapist plus the transfer cost but I plucked that out of thin air which rarely goes well.
Overall, all multiple choice questions were harder than any practice/mocks I've done. Section C is what it is, at least it's consistently difficult!
I think Section A was OK, although a lot of wordy questions with multiple responses required (which i hate!). Section B felt like it went well.
Section C i have the Expected Values question for some Popstar scenario, and the balanced Scorecard for AA Hotel. I felt they went OK, but i kept on doubting my maths on the EV question as i came out with more loss that profit!?!? who knows.
Pray for a summer miracle.
I too choose package 3.
Not sure about environmental costing question learning curve was something about 1.54 and in relevant costing question I took 64500 profit will be lost and ya I also choose 395 in relevant costing and if anyone have any idea about relevant costing question where labour and material was available and supervisor have to paid 3500 something like this I choose 14860 approx as I doesn't add supervisor cost as it was committed cost
Hi everyone, this was my first cbe doing acca.
When i got to section C, the first question about Ted and E.V, it only gave me the option to input into an excel spreadsheet, but they were asking to discus some of the answers, i ended up writing my responses into the cells, i found this very annoying! Did i miss something?
@opeyemiogunjimi said: You are supposed to calculate the Q first by working out MR=MC And then you calculate P= a-bQhow you calculate it... ?
You didn't miss anything, that was the ask. However the tool has its limitations so you have to enlarge the cell by using wrap text (or by double-clicking the line between the row numbers). For some reason they haven't added the Merge Cell option (within the formatting button) which would have made it easier to work with.
The Question 32 Debrief video available in the F5 Technical Articles section on the ACCA website includes some good tips on using the Spreadsheet tool.

I sat for the paper based exam .
For section C I got TED EV which was difficult and balanced scorecard which consumed too much time.
I found Section A and B as incredibly hard.
