April 13, 2020 at 2:21 pm #567962Could you suggest me the approach how should I go for ATX September session
April 13, 2020 at 3:29 pm #568016I did every single past paper I could get my hands on. I started by doing them all open book, tried to do 10 questions a day. I did them all open book, then I did them all closed book. I also read the Kaplan textbook page for page.
I’m not going to lie, this is the hardest paper I think I’ve ever sat. It’s very hard to get marks and it is a massive commitment. This is not open to interpretation and you need to learn the entire syllabus and be able to apply your knowledge 100%. Although it is pro-forma based, you need to understand why you are applying to proforma because there are so many things that mean adjusting it.
All I can recommend is ALOT of hard work for this exam. I came out thinking I’d failed entirely. I was absolutely mortified!
April 13, 2020 at 8:52 pm #568102Passed final exam 53% thank the lord. 8 years and 4 Months of struggle , sacrifice, and setbacks and 1000’s of hours of studying now an ACCA affiliate and in 3 days an ACCA member. Passed ATX on my 8th attempt. If I can get there we all can. For anyone that failed never ever give up you will get there I’m living proof!
April 13, 2020 at 9:27 pm #568108Hello
Thank you for leaving a comment. I am someone who has not passed, I have had a few attempts to this exam, Each time I have bee unsuccessful, its heartbreaking. Is there an exam strategy any of you guys could advise, and/or do you guys have any specific revision materials you would recommend I access?
Some of you have mentioned exam question practice. Please can you advise where you sourced your bank of questions from?
I would also like to ask you guys about the exam in March 2020. Did you all finish the paper? I ran out of time for mine. How much time did you allocate to each question?
Thank you for reading and for your advice.
Annie
April 14, 2020 at 12:12 am #568128Hey,
I got 46%. But missed one whole question.
Please could I buy your Kaplan workbook off you? I didn’t get any tuition at all and studied for months just by myself. I would be so grateful if I could buy it I can do a bank transfer instantly.
April 14, 2020 at 4:39 pm #568264Hi Afazil, I finally passed ATX after 8 attempts. In all fairness the 1st problem I had is originally I was with BPP and completing online lectures and then completing taught revision classes. I failed ATX miserably that 1st sitting as I tried to combine ATX and AAA and failed both back in 2015. From that stage I decided to take one professional paper at a time. Whilst studying for ATX and AAA I was waiting for P2 results now SBR. So I thought I would be qualified in 2015 and then to my horror realised I had to retake 3 exams. So passed P2, then AAA and then started my crazy battle with ATX again back in April 2018. 1st problem was my notes were 3 years old from before tried to use the finance acts to update my old notes but after failing 4 more times each in the 30’s I started to realise that I needed a different approach. So decided to ask BPP if I can get the new course note without going to classes and love behold I could. So I finally had the newest notes and could see my gaps in knowledge due to the finance act changes. This was the beginning of the change as I finally got 41 next sitting, then 47 next sitting and finally 53% this sitting. Another thing that helped was the BPP practice exam kit and doing 1-2 questions a day. All these things played a part though my ACCA journey and thank God finally an affiliate soon to be a member as I have 9 years experience.
So just keep going don’t give up!April 15, 2020 at 4:23 pm #568372Passed with 52% on first attempt. It was never ease
