Thank you open tuition, I went through all of your lectures and video for past exam. I have completed ACCA, will be applying for member status. I cannot believe that I pass the APM this round. Once again your contents have given me a good guide.

I am an affilate tooo....thank you open tuition for the support thus far. And I also got the generic mails. Clearly doesn't mean anything.

After exact three years of FIA and ACCA exams, I have officially become an ACCA Affiliate after passing APM with 63. A tip for everyone else planning on attempting or reattempting APM, after being unsuccessful at it twice, I went through the most critical evaluation of what I lacked and had a go at it. Improved my time management, and worked as fast as I could. Practiced all past papers till atleast 2015 and finally watched lons of videos that are available on YouTube. All the very best everyone.
RRoshni5y ago#15
failed with 49% on my 1st attempt... this was supposed to be my last paper... hope i can make it next time
LLyhakat5y ago#16
Failed 48 marks :(
Bbogi12085y ago#17
Failed... can’t believe it. And knowing that if it was paper based I would have passed it!!! They cancelled my exam 4 days before the exam day and offered to do the online exam. Obviously I had no time to practice the platform at all. And by then I wasted holidays from work already... Honestly I don’t know which planet those people came from who designed that platform.... with countless of mini windows and disallowing ALT TAB command for switching between windows. I spent half of my time trying to find the information by juggling between windows. I guess I will go again... last paper....

Failed for the 4th, losing faith to attempt it again, ACCA has been like a big shadow over me for God knows how long I can remember, countless hours and money wasted
SSatiam5y ago#19
OMG... Finally passed my last paper I thought I literally failed. Thank god.. Looking forward to the next adventure, maybe a new qualification.. :)

Thank you OpenTuition for all the resources. I used your stuff only in my last attempt of APM exam preparation. Passed with 58%. This was my 3rd attempt at the paper, so to those who didn't pass - Don't give up. Regroup and try again.

It was really tricky exam, the most one. Most of proposals here and in APM forum section are really valueble, however, here some my special tips for those who still underway: * You have to be mentally stable - i've found that examiner place in each qustion at least one trap in order to disturb your confidence and force you to panic and/or stuck or waste huge amount of time. Accept this as part of game. * For those who are not native speakers - you have to train your handwriting (in case of writing exam type). I've spent a lot of time learning how to write on english and how to do it speedy. It also include training of your writing arm with espander and elastic line for push/pull actions. * To obtain confidence you have to spent for exam preparation at least 70 hours (80/20 for practice/theory share respectivly). * I've discovered that BPP approach is better (then Kaplan and ATC/Backer) for understanding how to apply theory to case. It was my 7th attempt with 60 marks, after my last attempt for 49 marks. And i agree with ACCA that my knowledge with 49 marks was not good enough.

Congratulations to all who passed!!! Others all the best for next attempt, including myself!
Ccu5y ago#30
i passed with 50 marks (the 3rd attempt), i am wondering if acca would have given someone ONE mark for sympathy to let them pass.
JJoCio5y ago#31
Passed at 2nd attempt, 63%, thank you OpenTuition! I have studied the OpenTuition notes, and focus on past exams. You need to remember not to mix evaluation of the report (usually in question 1) with actual report preparation, that is what I did the first time and failed.
TTasbiha5y ago#32
I still haven’t received the email either, but my portal has been updated as well as the Strategic Professional Certificate is in the documents.
AAhsan5y ago#35
Passed @ 57% in first attempt on self study. Since it was my paper , I am an Affiliate now. Yahoo!!! Congratulation to those passed it as well. And those who couldnt clear it " Dont give Up" . just asses and change your strategy.
Ccucumbersweety5y ago#36
same!!! my first attempt failed with 49, such a terrible feeling
Ccucumbersweety5y ago#37
oh exactly the situation with me, it was supposed to be my last paper, I failed at first attempt with 49 :(
CCaroline5y ago#38
do you think the tech articles help in this subject? it all seems straight forward... but i only started yesterday :-) just reading and sumarising in a notebook main points, plan on doing Q's wk after next and sticking to q's and notebook until the end.. Is this sufficiant? Last Paper also
MMakinde5y ago#39
Yes, it does, it helps with knowing what the examiner wants and some times with guidance as regards questions, I have seen where questions were somewhat repeated or rephrased from articles.

Looking forward to sitting APM in March but unsure how the remote exam is going to go, at least we don't have to wear a mask! I sat this exam in September 20 thinking I'd cleared the paper only to find I got 40%! This is a tough paper but would rather sit this than SBL for 4 hours and having to read through countless exhibits
CCaroline5y ago#42
Thanks all, just going through the Kaplan book now and sumarizing, bit worried about this one but hopefully with 5 weeks i will get there! only this one to go..........

Hi all and congrats to all who passed the December exam!!!! Unfortunately, I did not pass and the worst thing, I do not know why. Task 1: I used the report structure. The task was about the police department and if the new CFIs are better than the old ones and if the current reporting is good, the 3Es and league tables. I definitely addressed the mission statement of the police department and confirmed that it was a non-profit organization and shareholder max. will not be the goal. Then I explained the 3Es and addressed each CFI in detail with applying the current KPIs that could measure it or if a new KPI was needed. I also addressed the shortfalls of the report such as no numbers in % for comparison, no narrative information, no comparison with others and etc. Then I addressed the benchmarking and league tables. Benchmarking: functional, internal & external. Task 2: It was about two Airplane companies: one that seemed to be a lowcoster (e.g. as Ryanair) flying to smaller airports and another (e.g. more like Lufhansa which) was flying to international hubs and valued quality. I examined the statement of the first company and analyzed why the claims were in that statement were not okay and why the differences exist and how it can be made better. I even did an internshipin the industry, so the industry was very familiar to me. I kept the structure of my answers as suggested in the ACCA online seminars and did not bluntly first write the theory and then the answer, but kept the answer structured. Task 3: I could definitely address the benefits of the activity based costing and the calculation. The task was to see which boots can be produced further both or just one or how to change the design of these boots based on the calculation. I did not consider the tasks that hard and I learned with BPP, online lecutues and I did all of the past exams. So I really do wonder, what went wrong. I will be glad to receive any suggestions and advice. Anna :)
