Many students who fail the AAA exam are puzzled why they failed when they felt that they had written good enough answers. Maybe marks were lost due to lack of knowledge or misunderstanding what the question was asking for. Obviously the ACCA does not provide that information for individual candidates.
We are unable to provide a marking service, but what we have produced a lecture showing how exam answers are marked, using actual students’ answers and explaining where marks would be gained and where (and why) marks would not be awarded.

August 10, 2020 at 4:19 pm #579856Looking forward to this lecture! Very useful, thank you. Hope the team picks up an answer with enough mistakes. Sometimes one can learn more by looking at what we do wrong than right. Or even better compare it with an ideal answer.

September 7, 2020 at 10:59 am #583773Thank you for this – it was very insightful. The lecturer commented on numerous occasion that mentioning specific standards was not necessary and gained no further points – if I recall correctly he called it “knowledge dumping” that “irritates the marker”.
Could you clarify if this comment is in reference to how all questions should be answered? Or were his comments specific only to how you would answer question 2.
One thing that has confused me (and potentially lead to me failing this exam at my first attempt) is I had thought dropping standard names was required – reading the ACCA Mock Answers on their website certainly gives that impression.
Would appreciate your thoughts.
