Hello sir, I downloaded the fma notes and I think there might be 2 extra chapters added by mistake. It's chapter number 22 (measures of average and of dispersion) and chapter 23 (The normal distribution). I couldn't find any of your lectures for these chapters and on your website it says there's only 28 chapters yet when I downloaded your notes it had 30 chapters. Are these 2 chapters in the F2 syllabus or not? There's also errors in the answers to the examples for these chapters so I couldn't really understand the working.
EDIT: Just read John's answer to one of the students. The 2 chapters are additions that'll be in effect from september 2019. Anyone giving FMA exam before september should ignore these 2 chapters.
NOTE: I'd like to request the tutors to double check the workings of the examples of the 2 chapters because I think they have a few mistakes.

7y ago#1Yes - I assume that you are referring to the notes that are titled as being for September to December 2019 exams, and the extra 2 chapters are on topics that have been added to the syllabus for exams from September 2019.
If you are taking the exam before September, then these two chapters are not examinable.
Lectures on these 2 chapters will be uploaded in the next one or two weeks (but you can still study everything else in the meantime - these 2 chapters do not affect any of the other chapters :-) )
I will double check the workings either today or tomorrow and if there are any errors I will have them corrected.
(The exam is no longer called Paper F2, it is now called Paper MA :-) )

7y ago#4I have checked the answers and there are indeed two very tiny errors:
For example 2 part (a) of Chapter 22, the answer of 1.54 is correct, but the workings should read as 20/13 (and not 20/12).
For example 1 part (c) of Chapter 23, the answer should read (40 + 50) / 150 = 0.60
You wrote that there are 'a few mistakes' - it you think you found more mistakes then please tell me and I will check again :-)
Yes, sorry about that, those two mistakes were the ones I was talking about. I should've been specific. Thank you for correcting them.
