Hi all,
So I sat FR last week on Thursday – it is my last exam at the F/Applied Skills level.
I am 99% sure I have failed the exam – I was very unwell on the day but still attended, however, I was unable to finish and even attempt the big section C question. I had to leave the exam room twice, once to throw up. The invigilator did note this down but I do not want to put in a request for mitigating circumstances, nor do I think I would be eligible. I then tested positive for COVID on the Friday morning.
I was planning to do my first Professional level exam in December, and I would still like to do this. From a knowledge perspective I was comfortable with FR and on a normal day would have expected to pass it. All past papers I sat were scored between the 60-70 range.
My question is two fold –
1) To confirm that it is possible to do a professional exam at the same time as a skills level exam?
2) If yes, which professional exam should I do in combination with FR?
I passed TX in June, and was considering doing ATX as a follow up while the knowledge is still relatively fresh in my mind. This would also allow me time between the exams, with ATX on Tuesday and FR on Thursday.
The other option I was considering was doing SBR. This would however mean having two exams on the same day. FR in the morning and SBR in the afternoon or vice versa. Would this also create confusion for me from a knowledge perspective?
Would appreciate any thoughts and feedback on this.
Thanks!
Ubayd

1) YES – however, you have to ENTER to sit any outstanding applied skills exams alongside strategic professional exams.
2) ATX sounds a sensible choice.
I do NOT advise two exams on one day – although you’re unlikely to be confused from a “knowledge perspective” the nature of the SBR exam is very different to FR and my advice would be to separate your preparation of them.

Think I will go with ATX – was leaning towards that anyway.
I am currently only able to book ATX, when the results come out, is that when I can book FR retake?

Since you were physically sick during the exam and this was documented by the invigilator I see no harm in you applying for mitigating circumstances. I think you would be just as sick if your didn’t apply and then get a mark of 49% (!) But if you didn’t attempt either Q in Section C (it’s not clear from your narrative), I agree there’s no point as such a mark would not be possible.
