15 minutes reading time
I assume that you are taking the exam in June (because the rule is different from September onwards).
I would have a quick look at what topics are being tested in Section B (but not for long - just to help me decide which questions to choose).
Most of the time I would spend reading Question 1. First read the requirements and see what it is you are being required to do. Then start reading the body of the question and underline any key things you notice. Do read the requirements first because the examiner is normally very helpful in splitting up the body of the question in the order of the various requirements. (If you watch my free lectures working through a few recent Question 1's then you will see what I mean.)
If you do still have time left then by all means start doing the odd calculation (or making the odd note for your answers to the written parts) on the question paper. (You are allowed to write on the question paper during the 15 minutes - just not in the answer booklet.)
Hello sir
Which rules are changing from September onwards?
From September onwards the paper based exams will last 3 hours 15 minutes and there is no restriction as to what you can do in the extra 15 minutes (you can use it for planning as at the moment, or you can start writing in the answer book immediately).
Oh I did not know that! They've changed '15 min' from a future/forward to an option :)
:-)
But only from September.
Sir I have noticed that acca no longer provides us with those 15 minutes reading time In cbe. I remember sitting for F5 n by 9 am we started and by 12 sharp we were done. That's a big let off
There is not longer 15 minutes reading time for Paper PM (was F5) because the exam no longer includes the 'seeded' questions.
However this thread is referring to Paper AFM and for AFM the exam is 3 hours 15 minutes my earlier reply remains true.
