Workings

AMA. Mohsin9y ago
Is it absolutely necessary to give the main answer first and show all my workings at the end (like how it is done in the study texts and revision kits)? Because I do not know how much space I should leave for the main answer until after I am done with the workings. Can't I just give the workings first and then write down the main answer, while giving proper headings so that it is easier to understand? I just don't want to waste any unnecessary time.

If you are preparing a corporation tax computation or an income tax computation then you should only need a page for the comp and the workings can then follow but it will not be a problem if you put the workings first but clearly mark your workings and start the formal comps on a new page clearly headed up

Basically, I can show the workings and main computation with proper markings (such as W1, W2) in any order as long as I start in a new page for both of them? I should have asked these simple questions a lot sooner instead of putting them off until the last minute.

Each working does not have to be shown on a separate page just show the formal comps on a new page and in its entirety either before the workings - preferred - or after the workings if YOU prefer
