    What is a group leader expected to do?
    The study group leader will be responsible to set a timetable and the agenda for each session. The other participants will take part in the discussion. The leader is not expected to explain tiny bits of syllabus as they arent a tutor. All they are required is to initiate a discussion and then moderate the session.

    Can I get an idea how Study groups are conducted?
    The students have been conducting study group sessions since June 2008 exams. Interesting students can see the chat history of past study group sessions.

    What benefits do i get from conducting study group?
    The active participants in study groups learn a lot from them. Its ideal for self study students as it ensures that u r covering syllabus on time and it adds an element of challenge and competition which helps a lot in ur studies!

    Moreover, this experience enhances ur communication skills, and we all know well that in the corporate world, if u have got communication skills, it surely benefits u in ur job prospects.

    You learn team work, which is considered to be one of the most essential management skills and without which its impossible to survive in this competitive job market

    It also teaches you the ability to lead ppl which again helps u in ur career. All in all, OpenTuition is providing u a platform to polish ur skills besides providing top quality free stuff!

    Which paper should I lead?
    You can lead any paper u like, but it helps when u lead a paper u intend to give in June 2011 sittings and which you find interesting.

    Hi Ansi
    I know u r leading F5 and F6, and i have seen the impressive manner in which u conducted the study group last time as well. But we can find more ppl to help u. Moreover since Open Tuition has ppl around the globe so Admin team is of the opinion to have more study groups so that more and more ppl get benefit from them. I m in a hurry rite now, will have a discussion wid u over the issue tonite:)

    Hi there ladies and gents,

    I would like to join the study groups for F4, F5 & F6 for the June exams. I need to know when do the groups commence & do you send out emails about the same or are there other methods of information flow involved. I’m new to this process and would be highly grateful if some one could kindly advise me about the same.

    @mhussain14,

    There are very few notifications by e-mail.
    Usually you receive notification by e-mail if someone posted in the same topic in which u did.
    However, do join F4, F5, F6 forums and check them for updates regularly.

    There will be several study groups for those exams.
    Some of them have already started (F5 and F6), however you still didn’t miss much and there will be new groups that will start later.

    If you go and check relevant forums , you will see study shedules and chat histories of past sessions.

    You are most welcome to our study groups and feel free to post your questions in the forums.

    Thank you for your interest 🙂

    regards,
    ansi

    @stasi,

    don’t worry, there is nothing wrong with other groups.

    It’s just ..i started F5 and F6 this year very very very VERY early. Usually people don’t start so early. But it was our common decision with fellow students from my past session.

    Otherwise F4 and F8 groups are under contruction now, i believe F8 will start any of these days.

    And just to let you know .. Sessions for December started in September.
    And sessions for June usually start in February.
    IT’s always like that because people are waiting for exam results in order to decide which exams they are going to sit.

    However, because of our early start, everyone seems to be interested now.
    I just hope that their motivation won’t fade 🙂

    just some patience ..start studying on your own for now 🙂

    Ok, thanks. I already started F4 & F6 but just felt “alone” since didn’t have anyone to study with 🙁 But I’ll be patient. I really like your sessions – feels like school all over again including homework assignment 😀
