    Hi,

Thank you very much to open tuition for all the great lectures note and videos! I find them so helpful.

I’m hoping you can help advise on choosing the global variant while living in Ireland? If I choose the Irish variant I have to wait until June 2020 to sit the exam however if I choose the global variant I can sit the exam at any point on demand which would suit me so much better time wise however is this a foolish mistake and I would not be qualified to work as an accountant in Ireland for choosing the global variant? Many thanks

Variant won’t stop you being qualified Ireland or anywhere.

There can be requirements if you wish to become an Auditor and gain a specific national auditor’s licence – local variants of certainly Advanced Auditing (AAA), maybe Tax and I think SBR too if memory serves may be required.. but for Law exam I don’t believe this should have any effect.

This link might help, but an email to ACCA should clear it up further.:

there could be specific local requirements to join a tax association as a tax accountant.. nut I am less sure on this

    Hi Ruth

I believe that Cathal is correct but, just to be sure, and to follow her advice, an email to ACCA would make sense

If that brings you no joy, try contacting your local students’ society

    OK?
