APMWhere to start

Ssam200tech2y ago
I have just paid for my 3rd resit.. 1st attempt 38% 2nd attempt 29%!! I need to have this and AFM completed by March 2024 as my time will run out and I will loose my other completed exams. I have a husband who will be working nearly every day until the 4th of September, I work full time and I have 2 kids. I'm not sure I need the stress of exams but I am trying to prove to myself that at the age of nearly 45 I can do this. Is anyone else in the same boat?? Where do I start? What should I concentrate on?

Hi, I 'm in a similar boat and did AFM with 5th time. From my experience I can say that you have to take a tutor, yes it costs, but they keep you on track all the time and also give feedback about mock exams (And paying 5 times for exam also is costing and loosing time as well). For me self studying was not working anymore for the advanced exams. I still have to do APM in December and I booked already a tutor. I also have family, a very demanding job and even I have couple years more than you:) And I 'm also proving to myself the same:)

Is there any criteria to pass all the exam by a certain date?

kamranf, yes there are time limits for the professional papers. Please see the following for more information- https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/getting-started/rules-and-regulations-for-students/time-limits.html Hope this helps.
