I recently completed the fundamental exams and I was wondering what sort of jobs can I apply to now . I graduated a UK university but that was 2 years ago . I currently don’t live in the UK now but would like to move there, and i don’t require a visa since i am a EU resident.
I started applying through reed and indeed, but i am not sure if they will look at my CV if don’t live in the UK .Any advice would be appreciated.January 26, 2016 at 2:20 pm #298015You are right about not living in the uk. That will be your biggest obstacle. Do you have any ties to the uk? As in do you have any close friends or relatives? If so then get their permission to use their address when applying for a job.

I’d recommend you looking for jobs in Cyprus, Malta or Gibraltar.

Been there before – you could trick them by having a UK number, but then you’re caught out when asked for interviews with a 2-3 days notice. Apologies for the brutality, but with a foreign address and number, your CV goes straight into the bin (unless you graduated from Oxbridge or have a particular skill set – read high finance/law)
Also, tax wise you NEED a NI number, and that alone can eat up time. I would suggest you set an appointment at the Job Centre as soon as you have an address here. Your employer will ask for it before you sign the contract together with proof you can work in the UK (e.g. EU/EEA passport or visa).
My advice, move to the area you would like to work and start applying the week before the relocation. Provided you have a UK number on your CV, you should get a few interviews in the pipeline as soon as you arrive.
I know how overwhelming moving country can be, so whatever you decided to do – BEST OF LUCK!!
February 9, 2016 at 5:49 pm #299846Thanks , i know it is really hard. I am also thinking of doing the UK variants for f4 and f6 , hopefully that will make it easier. The thing is, it can be really expensive to move in to a place in the uk and not have a job .

No. The plan is to make their way over here. A few months ago that plan was not so far fetched. Maybe it hard now with UK leaving the EU.
