Why do you think there is no linear regression in the syllabus?? www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/acca/f5/studyguides/f5-studyguide-2013.pdf Page 7, letter c) "Formulate and solve multiple scarce resource problem both graphically and using simultaneous equations as appropriate" - isn't that what we are talking about? :)

The new 2013 bpp book does not give you the regression analysis equation. also on the syllabus printed by acca found in the intro of the book, it has a deletion page. Quantitative analysis in budgeting is on there. The extra chapter is Performance Management Information Systems and is on the OT notes chapter 20. Hope this helps

Also see this response from the lecturer on here https://opentuition.com/topic/question-about-f5-syllabus/ he confirms this.

Thanks for the information. It's just there won't be a full question, but it doesn't mean that it was excluded from the syllabus.

Hi All, linear regression is not equal to linear programming what was mentioned above. Linear regression is a tool used for forecasting and was deleted from syllabus. The linear programming is a model used for finding the optimal production plan (which maximizes contribution or profit) in situations where there are several limiting factors. The latter one is included in the syllabus.

Exactly! Oh, I'm too inattentive. I was talking about linear programming all this time!

Although regression no longer appears in the syllabus, it is assumed knowledge from Paper F2. You will not be asked numerical questions on regression, but you should be aware of what it is.
