TQM, JIT & Traditional Management Accounting

Hi What are the usefulness of traditional management accounting systems? How would these link with current systems such as TQM or JIT?

Traditional MAS tend to look backwards. TQM = trying to improve constantly JIT = just a way of manageing inventory more efficiently. I'm not sure there's a specific link worth looking for.
