Topic 5. Advice needed for selecting financial years of companies.

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. The problem I am facing right now is which year should be the final year of my report. I have selected NVIDIA Corporation as my main company and Intel Corporation as its competitor as both work in the semiconductor industry. The big issue is that there is an 11-month gap between the reporting dates of of the respective companies i.e. NVIDIA’s reporting date is at the end of January while that of Intel is December.

To make matters worse, Intel recently published its Dec 2025 annual reports by the end of January while the latest annual report available for NVIDIA is Jan 2025, a full 11 month gap between the two.

So in essence, my question is that should I wait for NVIDIA 2026 and compare that with Intel 2025 for my evaluation and analysis or should I should choose the already available NVIDIA 2025 and compare it with Intel 2024 to minimize the reporting gap between the two?

I’d be very grateful if someone could clear this issue.
