Sir as far as Tone is concerned, the ONLY thing we need to consider apart from ofcourse not using derisive statement is this:
Briefing notes, Report, Memorandum, Letter-
If written by internal staff member, then "WE need to/should/could"
If written by external consultant then "XYZ/ Board/ senior management"
Press release-
Always- "XYZ/ Board/ senior management"
Correct? Please sir can you double confirm this? I know I have asked before, but just getting little jittery about these small things....

You can't use 'We....' if the writer is external. Otherwise 'The company...' is fine.
