hello
i’ve just heard about ACCA from a friend , so i decided to start studying it and start with F7 .. although i’m exempted from F1234 , but i fell not so confident at f7 so i decided to study F3 , so which topics i’ve to concentrate on to be ready for F7 ?
and also i’m studying from BPP Study Text for exams
up to June 2015 … so do you think that there is a big changes between it and the new version ? and any advices for me ?
i consider myself so lucky to find this website , you are really doing a great job . i appreciate your help .THANK YOU IN ADVANCE .
December 9, 2015 at 11:22 am #289554Don’t worry about the study text – it’s fine. Just make sure that IAS 41 Agriculture is covered.
I imagine IFRS 15 isn’t covered and instead it will include IASs 11 and 18. Both of those have now gone and been replaced by IFRS 15
Also, integrated reporting is now in F7 and is a new inclusion
Otherwise, substantially all the rest is the same as last year.
T get up to speed with those new bits, there are relevant chapters in the free course notes so personally I wouldn’t be inclined to spend my money with a new study text. Actually I probably wouldn’t look at the study text anyway – it’s too long, too boring, too detailed and way over the top for what you need
I think it’s a brilliant idea to watch John’s F3 lectures (from start to finish – you now have the time because you’re no longer spending all those hours ploughing through a study text!)
Then get stuck into the F7 lectures, work the examples, practice the mini-exercises at the end of the course notes, practice the past exam questions, particularly consolidations, preparation of financial statements, cash flows and interpretation questions
And attack F5 in the same way but follow John’s F2 lectures before you get into F5 – and the same comment applies to the F5 study text. All you need is within the resources on this site. If you desperately feel you need more, you can always look it up on the Internet
You MUST get hold of an up-to-date revision kit / exam kit for the exams. If you need, there is the availability of acquiring BPP material at a discounted price when you place your order through this site, but there’s no pressure on you there. If you prefers Kaplan, or any other material, then go for it
Finally, we aim to answer questions that are posted on the Ask the Tutor pages within 2 days maximum. It’s very often the case that we’ll get back to you within a few hours so, when you come across something that you don’t understand, post your question on this page and you’ll get your answer
Ok?
December 9, 2015 at 11:52 am #289565thank you sir for your concern and your instant respond .. actually your response came while i was studying ” incomplete records’ at f3 through the textbook . i was literally ploughing through it , it is too confusing and too boring and i spend too much time stduying without real benefit . I’ll follow your approach , and start again
your answer was helpful , thank you once again .
