Taxation - Syllabus

Hello, I am planning to embark on my studies with tax later on in the year. I see however that the lectures are somewhat far longer than any other of the lectures covered in other syllabuses in the Applied Skills stage. I was looking at another thread and a student said they had done an approximate calculation for how long it will take to cover this syllabus with 73 hours needed, and that is just to watch the lectures. Then there will be the need to go through the revision kit. All in all, the size of this syllabus is like the equivalent of two other syllabuses. I see there are new lectures coming in June, and i wonder if this will include condensed lectures? I'm AAT fully qualified just to give some background, so have a little bit of tax knowledge, but not much. I guess i'm just trying to see the best way of approaching this, without cutting corners etc. I'd like to cover another syllabus in conjunction with this, like Company and Law as it appears a fair bit shorter. I'm currently studying about 15 or 16 hours a week. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
