    Hello mike..

I failed p7 at 40 .I genuinely feel I lack professional writing skills and by the end I made very general points due to timepressure.

Now heading towards the iimprovements I m thinking to skip my attempt in march and prepare for June 2017 sitting …

But before that I wanted to confirm that if there is going to be any change in syllabus by June attempt ..

I am a self study student and I need your advice that should I skip march attempt and give more time to practice .

Saddened to hear that you didn’t clear P7 in December

There are no changes to the syllabus until September 2017 so your existing material should be fine

As for skipping the March session, what have you got to lose by retaking the exam in March

If you should happen to fail again, you will have spent the entry fee – but that’s it.

And you can’t pass the exam unless you’re in that room working for the associateship

Personally I would concentrate on improving exam technique and take the exam in March

Read examiner’s comments from the last 3 years

Read exam technique articles from me and from 2 of the P4 marking team – we all say the same thing but they’re all still worth a read

And read past exam questions and answers from a revision kit by a reputable publisher

Do that until 20th February and then post again for the next (and final) piece of advice

    Sir ..

Thanks for your prompt reply ..

For me paying fees is not a matter (of course that is to some extent ) ..my main issue is matter of time ..I m mother of two small kids and I m afraid that one month is not enough for me to practice …I can read the kit but I m weak in writing ..I need to write structured answers …for that I need enough time …and I feel one month is not enough although I m wanting to give it but I have other big responsibilities..

Well I have tried my best and continue to do so

    Thank u

I admire your spirit and I don’t envy your predicament

What I DO believe though is that, by reading more, you will improve your command of English and that should improve your professional writing

But my original comment still holds good – you cannot pass the exam unless you attend for that exam!

What have you lost – other than the money?

Whatever, the choice is yours … but I don’t believe that a defeatist attitude will help your cause

Get positive, believe in yourself, work on your exam technique and … nail P7 in March!

OK – I have started as of today ….what I have decided is to read the scenario and make pointers just one word of what the issue is going on …..then read the whole answer ….and finally read the marking scheme points matching them against my own points …

    I read just two questions …with this strategy let’s c what I do …

    Thanks a lot
