“Key supply chain activities include production planning, purchasing, materials management, distribution, customer service, and sales forecasting. These processes are critical to the success of any operation whether they are manufacturers, wholesalers, or service providers.”
Sir how does production planning become a process for wholesalers and service providers?
Manufacturers, wholesalers and service providers are just different parts of the supply chain. Each has its input, processing and output.
‘Production’ is used rather loosely. Every business has to do something to deliver its products or services. So wholesalers have to buy, store, package and distribute. Service providers, such as firms of accountants, have to allocate staff, review work, write letter and produce an audit opinion.
Oh alright.
I get it now. Thank you.
