Hi Chris, thank you so much for these lectures. I’ve just started my study for FR exam today. How much time do you honestly think is necessary to fully prepare for this exam? Also, do you recommend getting an approved study text book as well as using these open tuition notes and lectures? I already have the kaplan revision kit practice question book but am just wondering if i should also buy the text book to accompany my studies?
Furthermore, from looking at the past exam review comments and pass rates it seems that students find this paper to be particularly difficult, in your opinion why is that? and have you any tips on what i can do to ensure i pass first time round?
Kind regards

I hope you enjoy the lectures over the next few months. I can’t put a fixed amount of time on how long to study as it varies from student to student but I can say that you’ve more than enough time to study between now and the March exams. I’d recommend that you plan a detailed timetable of what you intend to study and when so that you can ensure that nothing is left until the last minute.
For FR you don’t need to purchase the text book, but you definitely need a revision kit to work through the questions to practise.
The pass rate is low as students do not prepare correctly, and in that I mean they do not work past exam questions, to time and under exam conditions. If you do that then you will pass the paper first time.
If you get stuck in the coming weeks, then you know where we are to help.
Thanks
Chris
