Social and demographic factors
Social can be fashion, habit, outlook. For example, in many countries (such as the UK) people don't settle down until later and this has caused an increase in single-person households as young people in their 20s don't want to live at home, but haven't got married. The building industry has responded by creating many more inner city apartments. Similarly, many of us have become accustomed to low-cost air fares and are more likely to fly of for weekend breaks.
Demographics is the study of population. For example, in many western countries life expectancy has increased and there is a much higher proportion of elderly people than previously. This has implications for accommodation requirements health needs and consumer habits in general.
Thanks a million Mr Garrett.
