Found the exam hard!!! Section c the first question was hard. Even some of the mcqs were tricky!!! I feel like all the worst little topics came up ? Studied so hard for variances and such a small question came.

Same here. I personally found the section C to be the toughest and I had written something. Even the second question in section C was very confusing and consumed a lot of time. Section A & B was okayish. I have nothing to say till October 16th

It was difficult not to mention the time management was difficult too due to questions being so tricky. Even the theory OTQs were tricky.

That exam was a disaster!! So difficult, section c was awful nothing like any of the practice papers I found! December resit here I come!!
TTereza3y ago#6
I thought section A & B were pretty decent but section C really threw me off! The ROI/RI question was ok but the decision trees I was not too sure on especially 7 marks on perfect information?! And limitations/benefits of decision trees ugh… fingers crossed for the results.

Hi guys could you please confirm the OT case answers of risk and uncertainty please? The minimax approach: 400 units The expected value before deducting costs: $450,000 The value of perf info: $750(?) The true or false mcq: Both were true? The theoretical OT asking for an approach: Sensitivity analysis? Also for the variance OT case What was the weighted average standard cost per litre? Total material Mix variance requirement: 200 something? The total material yield adverse variance: 3030 something around that? And for the true or false requirement was the first one true and the rest false? The theoretical mcq asking why yield was adverse was the answer 1,3,4?

I don't remember my answer for the value of info, I answered variance analysis. Both True. For the w AVG cost, I did total cost divided by total litres. My mix was 230. Not sure if those are right but I did those.
SShifa3y ago#9
Same my mix was $230 as well. The weighted average cost confused me because it asked for total cost per litre and it was pretty straightforward multiplying litres with the rate to get the total?

Section C was tricky. Got building block+(limiting factors+linear programming) in crqs.section A and B was okay-ish. This is my 2nd attempt of f5. I hope i pass.

Macadamia nut question? Anyone What’s the yield variance you got for sec B isn’t it something around 444
SSharath3y ago#12
Yes
HHayley3y ago#13
That was absolutely terrible, I struggled so much and this was a resit ?
SShifa3y ago#14
my adverse yield variance was something in the $3000s am i wrong? what was it
JJames3y ago#15
Found it very hard plus the exam stopped half way through and never got the time back do that made it much worse. Expecting a resit

Can only pray for a pass but not sure. I had ROI/RI and Decision tree in section C. Thank God I looked at past exam (sept/dec 2017) on a similar ROI/RI question in ACCA website and Steve Willis videos on risk and uncertainty (EV and perfect info) just yesterday!! if not I would not even have attempted section C. Spent a lot of time on section C so I had to quickly rush to do section A & B, obviously could not answer all questions due to time left. How I wish I can just clear this paper and move on, I have been stucked with it for a while already :(

Good day, can anyone kindly confirm in Section C first 20 mark question. The first part said calculate ROI and the 2nd part said to Calculate ROI with the new investment. Right?
Sssingh3y ago#18
Can anyone recall what they got for the ROI for managers L and M? Thank you.
HHiya3y ago#19
Correct!
PPan3y ago#20
This was my third attemped. Probably need to resit. I got times series in section c. Never done time series in section c before. Besides, no revision questions of time series in books at all
AArnesto3y ago#21
I had the same question, spent too much time on linear programming. The building block question was a disaster! Found Section A+B okish
Ttit3y ago#22
even I spent too much time on linear programming and for the building block was very time consuming. For section A and B it was quite good but i realised that i made 2 mistakes in mcq which were available in the mock exam 4 of the BPP book. The question was exactly the same! Let's hope for the best
