Separate legal entity

Hi Janeline, Im not entirely sure what you mean by your question but Im assuming you would like to understand what is meant by the concept that a company is regarded as a separate legal entity. This concept was essentially clarified in the case of Salomon v Salomon so that would be where I suggest you look first. Hi Janeline, Chapter 10 deals with the concept of the Company being a separate legal entity. The recording on this topic is entitled Trading Certificates and Lifting the veil and at about 7 minutes into the recording. You will see our tutor talking through what is meant by Separate Legal Entity and refer to Salomon v Salomon. Please note that for the exam you are not required to know the facts of cases.
