Hello,
My apologies if you've had this question before.
If I'm to sit the UK variant for the exam, would I be able to still learn via Opentuition using the International standards? Or would my answers be completely incorrect in the exam?
I'm UK based and so I'm sure I'd be pushed by my employer to take on the UK variant. However, the only reason I've got this far is due to the amazing teachers of Opentuition and would find it difficult to study through other methods.
Let me know.
Cheers.
Ask the Tutor ACCA SBR
SBR International vs UK
Not a tutor, but doing the UK variant this week.
For the majority it will stay the same as international, there will be around 15-20 marks that will be different.
Those marks - based on the specimen exam, and P2 in the past - will be on how to treat something under FRS (UKGAAP) and how it's treated under IFRS. Examples would be about the difference in deferred tax, intangible assets, assets held for sale. I think they usually show up in section B and will be theory based.
I am also for SBR UK and a little bit confused whether to start with OT lectures since it is mentioned as SBR-INT. It would be better if Tutor can allocate his time to answer this question ASAP. Thanks in advance!
Hi,
There are minimal differences between UK GAAP and IFRS, therefore it would be a total waste of time duplicating two sets of notes and videos.
I'd suggest that if you are studying under UK GAAP then work through our material on the website and then use the syllabus and study guide provided by ACCA on their website that specifically lists the differences between the two sets of rules, and learn those so that you can answer the question on the difference within the exam.
Thanks
What would be the best guide to visit for UK and INT differences as I have only 1 week to prepare and I have done all INT SBR from OT but by exam is UK based
The exam will not be UK-based. Part of one question will refer to UK standards. Please refer to our course notes where the key differences are set out. Remember that most questions will ask you to reply in respect of international standards.
