Hi Ken,
Hope all is well with you!
I need a piece of advice from you.
I could not succeed my SBL paper in the recent exam session as I came down by 33%.
This time I could not complete the paper thoroughly as I attempted questions that are only worth of 70-75 marks.Honestly speaking, I really did not find the paper too difficult and it was manageable up to some extent.
I think I was spending too much time on reading and analyzing the case study and hence could not complete the paper fully.
I experienced the same issue while I was practicing revision questions and mock exams for the SBL paper.
I was contemplating to sit SBL with the new format (pre-seen) where I would be able to go through the case study thoroughly and grasp a good understanding of the scenario. This will enable me to be make myself better prepare for the final examination day.
In the meantime, I thought of sitting for the ATX paper in the June session which is the other paper that I am yet to complete in the professional level stage.
Kindly advice me if I am making a good move on the above matter?
I also want to know if that would be any major syllabus changes as result of the introduction of pre-screen for the SBL paper.

I can’t advise on beginning to study for the ATX paper at this stage and I suggest you try asking on that forum. I believe the paper is very technical, but your challenge will depend on your tax ability (and how much you remember from the TX paper).
If you attempt questions that amount to only 70 -75% of a paper you are very unlikely to succeed. I therefore feel you might do better waiting for the pre-seen exams in September (even though your time is reduced from 4 to 3.25 hours).
There are no significant changes to the SBL syllabus between June and September 2023.
