PMRounding Differences

ABantonio blaze16y ago
Just did a learning curve revision question. Got a very low mark, not because I failed to apply the concepts(actually,I applied the concepts very well!!),but because of ROUNDING DIFFERENCES!!! In my calculations I used two decimal places whereas the answer at the back of the book rounded off to ONE decimal place. As a result,my final answer was off the answer at the back of the book by about $1000! So I need to know, how do the examiners deal with rounding differences when marking? Will we be told how many decimal places to use when doing calculations?

If your difference was only due to rounding, then you will not be penalised in the exam (unless the examiner specifies in the question how many decimal places to use).
However do help the marker and make sure you show workings so that he/she can check you know what you are doing.
