Dear All,

October 13, 2019 at 8:11 pm #549074Pease consult the Information Pack section on the SLS and also Appendix 1 which sets out the reasons for a fail to help you.
The SLS is all about self-reflection about your own learningarning experience and development. So you need to put yourself at the centre of things. Q1 should not be a list of what your mentor did and said and not what you did but WHY it was useful and impacted on your work.
Personally I get my students thinking about the SLS right from our first very first meeting and I give them a sheet and hints to help them to note down all of their challenges and their own academic strengths and weaknesses from the start and suggest regularly revisiting this sheet to update the notes on their progress. So far no one has failed their SLS using this approach.
If you email me via my website @ahsanramzan I can send you a copy of my sheet but as I mention it’s best to use this at the start rather than at the end as it is much harder to remember your learning stages at that point. (Please note this is just an offer to ahsanramzan and not a general invitation to every student).
