Hi, I have failed SBR UK for the second time first attempt 34 second 38.
As I am still trying to digest this failure I cannot seem to understand how to go about tackling the revision for the December sitting which I am determined to do.
I do not know where to start or what plan to follow or even what to study bearing in mind with only 6 weeks remaining for the next sitting.
What would be the best guide in the timeframe?

First of all, take a couple of days off – just to be cross.

Don’t forget that most people fail because they do not write down the basic points about each accounting standard – use iasplus website as a guide to required knowledge.

I am trusting that your time allocation was spot on – if it is not you cannot pass this exam – 1.95 minutes/mark.

Question practice remains core to your revision. Work backwards carefully through the exams set since the big syllabus change, plus the specimen papers.

Make sure you have looked through the recent articles.

I am guessing that are a UK based auditor – if not you should be doing the International exam which is easier.

Hi Stephen, thanks for the above.
So I’ve had a week of numerous moods and now want to get back on track.

Time allocation was spot on as I had time to read my answers over so I’m thinking it’s gaps in knowledge which I need to identify and work on. My question is being not so long from the next sitting is now ok to learn content?

I have the BPP revision kit up till June 2020 and printed all OT notes from around then too. I can’t physically get a hold of the new copies any time soon due covid are you aware of any material changes that have occurred? You mentioned a big syllabus change.
I’m tempted to purchase the online ebook exam kit to save time but not sure.

With only 6 weeks remaining I was planning to spend the first recapping my knowledge then tackle the question practice on paper with a week off from work.

    What are your thoughts?

OT notes – OK but look at the new chapters on ethics and current issues and follow the on-line lectures.

BPP kit – OK but make sure you work the 2019 exams on ACCA website in conjunction with our on-line debriefs.

2 weeks to re-work all the examples in the OT notes, 4 weeks revision question practice sounds fine.

Student chats need to go in the other blog.

But OT notes and an UP TO DATE BPP kit is fine (2020/2021)
