Sir this is my third time taking my PM examinations, and i am quite worried. Both of my attempts was almost a pass

Do you have any suggestion on what to do? I feel a bit panic thinking about my upcoming exams

First, I assume that you have a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA Approved Publishers (BPP and Kaplan) – if not then it is vital that you buy one. You must attempt every question and where you make mistakes then learn from your mistakes and if you do not understand where you went wrong watch the relevant free lecture or ask in this forum and I will explain. (If you have already attempted every question then start again from the beginning and attempt them again!)

Second, make sure you have attempted as many practice exams as possible under exam conditions (especially sticking to the time allowed). There will be three mock exams in your Revision Kit, and there are specimen CBE exams on the ACCA website (and they are important to be sure of being able to do the CBE efficiently).

Thirdly, make sure you allocate your time between the three sections (allowing 1.8 minutes per mark). If you spend too long on a question (especially those in Section C) then you will be losing time on other questions.

Fourthly, in Sections A and B as soon as you come to a question that requires a lot of reading or is obviously on a topic that you know you are not very good at, then don’t waste time – move straight on to the next one. You can always go back later and spend more time on the questions you have left out if you do have time left at the end. When there is 5 minutes left in the exam then go back and make guesses for any questions you have not done (those where you are required to choose one of four answers) – guessing wrongly does not get negative marks, but you might guess correctly and just 2 marks can turn a fail into a pass 🙂
