Hello sir,
I know that we are allowed to use the words, “according to the relevant standard ” in the exam. But what if I know the IAS/ISA number and not the name, will that still be okay.
Example
IAS 17
Without including “leases ” to itNovember 29, 2014 at 9:54 am #214260THERE ARE NO MARKS FOR KNOWING STANDARDS, NUMBERS, NAMES, YEARS, SECTION NUMBERS, DATES!!!!
Give me $1 for every time that I have said this and I would be a wealthy man
In summary, there are no marks for knowing something that, in practice, you can simply look up from the Internet. The exam is not trying to find who has the best memory and is able to remember not just the number but also the title of all the examinable documents.
Stop wasting your time in trying to memorise this stuff and be happy in the knowledge that anyone that CAN remember it all must really have a pretty sad life
Ok?
November 29, 2014 at 11:53 am #214307Thank you for your response.
However, i am asking based on the fact that it will take me a little longer time to write, “according to the relevant accounting standard” than simply writing “IAs 16”.
Thanks once againNovember 29, 2014 at 11:03 pm #214542Ok, so say “according to IAS 22”, whichever you find easier
