I am studying form BPP materials and in the revision kit I found two controversial answers for questions. Questions no 77 and 83 (income tax individuals). One question excludes property rental income (not furnished holiday let) while the other counts dividend income as relevant earnings to determine the limit of contributions into pension scheme towards AA and attraction of tax relief. Am I right to say that neither property rental income and dividend income are relevant earnings for determining pension scheme AA limit and tax reliefs?
Relevant earnings would only include rental income from furnished holiday lettings and would certainly not include dividend income. I doubt however that BPP would make such an error but without seeing all the information in the questions and answers shown I could not confirm
