Please help out with this question
Q: Regression analysis was used to find the equation Y=300-4.7X, where X is time (in quarters) and Y is sales level in thousands of units. Given that X = 0 represents 20X0 quarter 1 what are the forecast sales level for 20X5 quarter 4?
My question here is how am I going to get the X for 20X5 quarter 4?
For quarter 4 of 20X0, X = 4.
For quarter 1 of 20X1, X = 5,
For quarter 2 of 20X1, X = 6.
And so on…..
If you keep on counting, then for quarter 4 of 20X5, X = 24
Thanks, that was what I got before. What confuse me there was that in their solution they said x at 20X5 quarter 4 was 23.
