15y ago#1'Quality' in software is best answered by looking at it under the headings of:
Functionality - what does it do?
Reliability - few bugs
Usability - eg convenient menus etc
Scalability - can we add to it as the business expands
Maintainability - what if tax laws change? Can it be easily adapted?
Platform - there's no point in buying something that only runs on Apple machines if you are using Window's based machines.
