I would like to know the best ways of approaching quality management questions

Quality management
First, for anyone coming across this post, I think it's worth mentioning how QM may be examined.
Although QM is a core AAA topic, it is not usually examined as a standalone 25-mark question. The examining team has repeatedly emphasised that it is pervasive, meaning it can appear anywhere in the paper and even multiple times within the same exam.
Since the introduction of ISQM 1, ISQM 2 and ISA 220 (Revised), ACCA has moved away from treating quality management as a narrow "knowledge" topic.
Typical appearances include:
Part of the compulsory 50-mark Section A case:
- identify quality management deficiencies
- evaluate the firm's quality management procedures
- recommend improvements
- explain the impact on audit quality
Part of a 25-mark Section B question:
- often combined with ethics, engagement acceptance, engagement planning or professional issues
Smaller sub-requirements - e.g. 6–12 marks within a larger question asking for quality management weaknesses or recommendations.
This ACCA article is quite explicit https://www.accaglobal.com/ubcs/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p7/technical-articles/isqm-1.html :
"Quality management is pervasive to the AAA exam... aspects potentially arising multiple times within a single exam."
Later it adds that candidates should expect quality management
"in either section of the exam."
The above-mentioned article and the part 2 article - https://www.accaglobal.com/caribbean/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p7/technical-articles/isqm-2.html - include:
- exam-focused discussion
- illustrative exam scenarios
- examples of how requirements may be worded
- explanations of what examiners expect candidates to discuss.
The exam focus sections in the part 1 article are particularly useful on how to approach questions. The Part 1 article repeatedly inserts Exam focus sections.
For example, after discussing the firm's risk assessment process it says candidates may be required to:
- explain the firm's quality management processes
- evaluate deficiencies
- recommend improvements.
Throughout the article, the examples follow a common pattern:
identify the quality issue ? explain why it matters ? discuss the consequence ? recommend an improvement.
That's essentially the marking approach.
