The Question is as follows
“Using all the information above, assess the financial performance of Division S in the year ended 30 November 20X3. State clearly where further information might be required in order to make more reasoned conclusions about the division’s performance.”I just used the financial info for S for both years comparing those as the question requires you to assess performance of S only. Yet the mark scheme is assessing performance of Div C as well? Should you always be comparing different divisions of different sizes and countries if given the info? I thought it might have been there just as a distractor.

The Q said “Using ALL the information above”. THINK – if to use all means it’s NOT a distractor – why has the information been given? Exactly as you say – to allow comparison – and YES you would always expect there to be some difference between them (e.g. size) that needs to be taken into account/adjusted for in making valid comparison.
