Hi,
The Question is as follows
“Using all the information above, assess the financial performance of Division S in the year ended 30 November 20X3. State clearly where further information might be required in order to make more reasoned conclusions about the division’s performance.”
I just used the financial info for S for both years comparing those as the question requires you to assess performance of S only. Yet the mark scheme is assessing performance of Div C as well? Should you always be comparing different divisions of different sizes and countries if given the info? I thought it might have been there just as a distractor.
Thanks!
The Q said “Using ALL the information above”. THINK – if to use all means it’s NOT a distractor – why has the information been given? Exactly as you say – to allow comparison – and YES you would always expect there to be some difference between them (e.g. size) that needs to be taken into account/adjusted for in making valid comparison.
