    The input to process B of LAG ltd in May 2020 was 2000 units.
    Normal loss is calculated at 5% of input.
    Cost of production in May were;
    Direct materials:7400
    Direct labour: 2600
    Production overhead : 5200
    Actual output during May was 1780 units and there was no work in progress at the end of the month.

    Prepare the process account for process B. Show the workings of cost per unit of expected output in the answer sheet. [15 marks]

    There is no point in simply typing out a full question and expecting to be provided with a full answer!! You must have an answer in whatever book you found the question, so ask about whatever it is in the answer that you are not clear about and then I will explain.

    You could not be asked this question in the real exam – you cannot be asked to write up a process account and it cannot be asked as a 15 mark question. Process costing is only asked as 2 mark questions in Section A of the exam.

    However, everything needed to be able to answer this question is covered in detail in my free lectures. The lectures are a complete free course for Paper MA and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.
