    Parallel activities should be linked rather than integrated.

    This is one of the principle listed in the study text. I didn’t understand it.

    It is really trying to say (if it’s worth saying!) that for example:

    when a sales order is received, two things might happen in parallel ie a credit check and a stock check. These can happen in parallel but could not be integrated because they would be carried out using different information and different people. However, a linkage is needed because the order will fail unless both of these tests is passed.

    Really, don’t waste much time on it.
