    Hi Ken,

Apologies if this has been asked, will we be required to create a PID with all relevant headings or will the format be given to us?

    Thanks in advance.

When I read your question I had a bit of a blank about what you meant by ‘PID’, so I Googled it all the references were for pelvic inflamatory disease – which is not on the current syllabus. Further refinement of my Google query came up with project initiation document: of course.

A full project initiation document is a major piece of work and I don’t see how you could be asked to produce a whole one.

However, you might be expected to explain to the board the purpose of a PID and its usual content/headings. You might also be required to produce, in full, one section – for example the business case or suggestions for the composition of the project team etc.

Thanks Ken, pelvic inflamatory disease would certainly shake things up if it was referenced in the exam!

So is it safe to say in general that you wont be marked down if you don’t use a model for structure yet somehow cover enough applicable points?

I think a model is too strict a concept, but the typical contents of a PID is fairly standardised, though order of paragraphs has some flexibility.
