Sir there was a question like this
Calculate the
(iv)Average wait for telephone repairs (in days)
The answer was 29.3 days but my answer was 29 days
Sir is my answer wrong then??( because i just rounded it down assuming that days can’t be measured in decimals)
Whether it is wrong or not really depends on which section of the exam it was in.
However it is an average, and although the wait each time might be in whole days, an average can certainly be 29.3 days.
Sir this was a question from section B
So is it wrong or correct then sir?
It is wrong, because an average does not have to be whole days (unless the question specified to round to the nearest day).
I mentioned the sections of the exam because although it would still be wrong if it was in Section C, in that section your workings are marked and so provided your workings were clear you would probably only lose 1/2 a mark.
