I am looking to claim some time and have asked my supervisor to register.
He says he did so, but when I log in to my PER pages, it still says waiting.
Is this normal? And how will I know that he has registered, like do we get an email?

You will get an email with the subject 'Supervisor registration complete' when your supervisor has logged in and accepted your invite to be your supervisor. When they approve time or objectives you will get an email with the subject 'Employment reviewed' or 'Performance objective reviewed'.
So it sounds like your supervisor hasn't fully completed the process.
