Hi, I have completed my Telford presentation and have submitted. I have now done my Peer assessments.
2 of the peer assessments were not Telford presentations, 1 was the excel sheet from an earlier part (financial implications area) and 1 was a presentation on a milling company SWOT analysis.
It didn’t seem I had anyway of saying I had the wrong download so all I could do was score them badly.
Has anyone else had this experience?November 25, 2021 at 3:29 pm #641611Hi! I have the same problem now, the first presentation was empty, the second file did not relate to the task in any way… I just do nothing with that but feel nervous that I can not progress because of this π
November 25, 2021 at 3:40 pm #641618If your issues are not answered by the “Further guidance on preparing a presentation and peer reviewing others work” (link) available on this page https://www.accaglobal.com/an/en/student/ethics/peer-assessment-within-epsm.html, I suggest you contact ACCA directly https://www.accaglobal.com/hk/en/footer-toolbar/contact-us.html
It seems sensible to me that if the slides are blank the answer is “no” on all the criteria of A, B and C and if they are not of Telford, the B is a “no” (as they cannot contain relevant points).
I don’t think you should worry that you have to necessarily “mark down” peer assessments when individuals cannot even “answer the question set”.
November 26, 2021 at 12:39 pm #641696Thank you for your reply. I was just confused that the answer was completely different than the question set and it made an impression that there is any technical error or complete misunderstanding from my side. I have written to ACCA directly and being waiting for the answer.
November 26, 2021 at 12:54 pm #641700Your understanding is correct – it’s just that as many of the posts to this forum show, not everyone reads instructions (!)
January 18, 2022 at 3:51 pm #646946Exactly the same problem. One was blank, the other a SWOT analysis on a single sheet Word document and another had a screen shot of the student’s dashboard and an explanation that they have only done the Introduction section of Unit 8 with other sections locked out except section 8 strangely.
Was quite confused but just scored as best as I could
January 18, 2022 at 4:00 pm #646947I kid you not, the final peer assessment I received is a 26 slide presentation titled “Chapter13:Creating and Managing Teams”.
It has absolutely nothing to do with Telford Engineering, but includes a slide which is an image of Steven Gerrard holding up the Champions League trophy from Liverpool’s 2006 final victory.
How should I proceed here? Is there a technical problem whereby peer assessment files are being sent to the wrong candidates? As in, are the other non-Telford Engineering Case studies?
January 18, 2022 at 4:51 pm #646950@miraijones – I have seen it before that students ask whether they should submit, for example, the SWOT analysis – and I tell them NO. Since peer assessment is only a feature of EPSM I don’t think you can be sent the wrong files for review. Sounds as though someone has uploaded a ppt from the web – either by mistake or they thought it didn’t matter what they submitted! I don’t think you should waste any time on it – but grade it so it has to be resubmitted. It is clearly defeating the object of the exercise if a student does not even submit the requested task.
September 15, 2022 at 10:03 am #666456I’m having the same problem – I’ve peer reviewed 12 presentations now and over half have been completely unrelated to the assessment. Are there really that many people trying to sneak through without doing the task or is it a technical issue?
I’ve also noticed that not one of the assessments out of the 12 I’ve seen have had notes in the notes section below the presentation slide (which is a requirement). Mine does, and I haven’t passed twice because apparently mine has “no notes” either based on my feedback! Which makes me think do the notes not show when you download a ppt file from the portal? Seems bizarre that NO ONE has included notes…
Very frustrating part of the module!!
September 15, 2022 at 10:20 am #666458I should be most grateful if you would please report this directly to ACCA for review/action – https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us – select “Ethics and Professional Skills Module” from the select topic menu. Specifically query whether there could be a technical reason why notes might not be seen by reviewers.
I am sure other users of the forum would be grateful to know the response. I have tried in the past to make enquiries on behalf of students, but to follow up on technical issues, the relevant department needs to be able to look at specific account details, etc that I cannot provide.
