I was solving the practice questions and i came across the measure “Avg. length of stay at hospital by patient” , i am puzzled, this measure is performance measurement for which element, Economy or efficiancy or effectiveness ?
it looks effectiveness to me but i am not sure, as The more patient stay at hospital on average, it indicates the hospital is not doing very well on its paient health.
It is a measure of efficiency. The shorter the stay in hospital then the more efficiently they are using the hospital beds.
Obviously that could be because they were making people leave hospital before they had fully recovered, which is not good.
That is why it needs a range of measures.
Have you actually watched my free lectures on this, because I use hospitals as one of my examples?!!
Yeah, i watched all the lectures, I am using only open tuition to study, not even the books.
I hope that my previous reply answers your original question OK.
