Starting ACCA can feel overwhelming at first, but here's the simple version:

Begin with these 3 papers first: BT, MA, and FA. They're the foundation level papers, and everything else builds on them.

Before you register though, check if you're eligible for any exemptions based on your previous education, this can save you time and money.

Once you're ready, register directly on the ACCA website, then come back here, OpenTuition has great free lectures and notes for every paper. But ensure you practice using the Exam kits (Kaplan or BPP).

Take it one paper at a time rather than rushing, that's usually what works best.

I am new to ACCA. I don't have any exemptions because I do not have any accounting background. I was informed the three foundational examinations I need to take will not be available on my ACCA profile. Could you please put me through on how I can go about it?

The first three exams are on-demand computer-based exams, available throughout the year. For centre-based exams, you book and pay directly with the exam centre, rather than through the usual myACCA exam booking process. Your results are then uploaded to your ACCA account.

To get started:

• Find an ACCA exam centre and contact it for dates, fees and booking instructions

• Read ACCA’s on-demand exam booking guidance
